Swimology
Once a young professor was making a sea voyage.He was a highly educated man but had a little experience of life.In the crew of the ship while he was traveling was an illiterate old sailor .Every evening the sailor would visit the cabin of the young professor to listen to him hold forth on many different subjects.He was very impressed with the learning of the young man.

One evening the sailor was about to leave the cabin after having long conversation, the professor asked, “old man,have u studied geology?” “What is that, sir?” “The science of the earth”. “No sir,I have never been to any school or college.i have never studied anything.” “Old man.you have wasted a quarter of your life.” With a long face the old sailor went away. “If such a learned person says so,certainly Its must be true,”He thought .”I have wasted a quarter of my life!”
 
Next evening again as the sailor was about to leave the cabin the professor asked him,” Old man, have you studied Oceangraphy?” What is that sir ?” The science of sea.” No sir,I have never studied anything.” “Old man you have wasted half your life.” With longer face the sailor went away; I have wasted half my life.
 
Next evening once again the young professor questioned the old sailor have you Studied meteorology?”what is that sir I have never heard of it Why the science of wind the rain the weather.You have not studied the science of earth on which you live you have not studied the science of the sea on which you earn your livelihood: you have not studied science of the weather which you encounter everyday?old man you have wasted three quarters of your life. The old sailor was very unhappy.

The nextday the oldsailor came running to the cabin And cried ,”Professor sir,have you studied swimology?” “Swimology?What do you mean?” “Can you swim,sir?” “No.I don’t know how to swim.” “Professor sir you have wasted all your life! The ship has struck a rock and is sinking Those who can swin may reach the near by shore, Iam so sorry professor sir You have Surely lost your life.”

                                                    It was in year2002, when the gamingfever catching up in india  i was working with one of the upcoming ‘Games Development ‘company’ in ‘India’. we were a team of twelve guys working on a realtime 3Daction fighting game with lots of indian content in it.things were much interesting & exciting to work on. As a Part of our job it was obligatory to Play a games everyday for two hours.& we all are getting paid to play & develop a games. SOUNDS FUN ISN’T IT..?

Well let me tell you folks, developing a game Is not an easy taskkkkk. It involve Heal lot of technicalities ,creativity , problemsolvingtechniques managing skills & last but not the least. ‘patience’.As a routine we had to brainstorm on each & every aspect of gamesdevelopment , to comeout with best possible ideas & solutions for the Development & production cycle of the game.It was one of the best phase of my carrer, things were moving further in an appropriate way.Suddenly after sometime in the middle of our production cycle,things went wrong With some of our co-workers & they call to ‘quit’, though we had a Backupplan in place so its doesn’t much affected  our production cycle.
                                        
After a Gap of certain time something much more shocking happened, one of our senior’.’programmer’ came across some of our game Assets had been put up for sale, for few ‘dollars ‘on the web.i was shock to see the assests up their,because I was the person responsible for the development of those,so the matter was taken up to CEO, He had promptly decided to takeup action against the accused. An official complaint was lodged at the cyber crime office.I was under a suspicion, cause all the source file was with me.So I had been called for interrogation.though i was very much relaxed because i had not commited the crime. NOW THE REAL FUN BEGINS.

                                     INTERROGATION
The officer of cyber crime had asked me some of the most memorable questions of my life.......
What does your company do .?
Well, we develop 3Dcomputer games.

What does 3D means…? Do you mean to say you have to wear a colorful Glasses to watch the games.. ? Well the answer goes No ‘sir’. so I had tried to put up in a simpleway for the officer to understand. ‘sir’ 3dmeans ‘three dimension’.You can see the object from all the side in the virtual environment. Ok said the Officer.with too many question & answers and explainations i manage to show some samples to get their picture clear.

So What had been stolen..?
I said a 3dmodels of our game..the officer said ok so......

What Model has been stoled…? I had shown him the source files of all the model.it had an extension of .3ds file, like for images we had .jpeg,gif,Bmp etc & for Document,we had wordfile same goes for 3dfiles with an appropriate extension.So i had open the sourcefile with the respective ‘software’ and showed to the officer that all these models are stolen, I was happy that i made an officer to understood,what had been stolen.so i was bit relaxed.before going for further action The ‘officer’said thanks for Information,and when the officer was about to leave He turn around with the surprise look and said to me you had mentioned that Model had been stolen ,But I can see the model in your machine & its right in front of us ,How can you say its stolen….???

I was ashamed of myself afterspending twodays with  the officer I couldn’t able to make him understand.So after a brief pause, I took a ‘deep Breathe’and again started my mission to explain the crime to the officer. these Time i had decided to put it in a very basic level,What I did, I opened an windows explorer Browse the destination folder and select all the files and rightclick ,copy & pasted all the file to another ‘drive’ by these way I had explain to the officer how one can move file from one destination to another by making copy of source file.Though i was under the impression that the person deployed for cybercrime department may be having some sort of Basicknowledge,but then i was informed that the officer had been moved from another department to these department for
interrogation,with no reaction i had continued my work.

Well it was an Happy Ending  for ‘us’. they manage to nab the ‘accused’ and I manage to explain to the Officer Whats the actual crime Happened…
                                    

            

CREATIVITY                                                     2ndApril2008 Wed

Hi friends it gives  immense pleasure to assemble ones thought on the ‘paper.’….oopsss , sorry for the mistake. Well I completly forgot its an 'E-age' ..lets put it in other way.'say' on the ‘screen.’there we go.......

After flunking twice in my academic carreer.Once in school and Once in college I managed to secure my Bachelor Degree. That is ‘BACHELOR AT HEARTS’. …Huhh what sort of degree is this.??. Let me put it in other way. if you Minus alphabets like A,T,H,E  and Add  O,F, that is my degree BACHELOR OF ARTS (BA ). You had seen how I misuse the  liberty of writing, Since I firmly believe that every person has a tremendous potential and creativity in its self .iam not the exceptional case.

 I always had a love and a great interest towards cartoons & animation.since it was a great source of ‘Entertainment’ on every Sunday  morning on Indian national television during my childhood days.After getting my graduation degree I directly jump in to Animation & multimedia course. THIS WAS MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH COMPUTER, 

So moving on further after spending 12months I manage to complete my ’Diploma in animation & multimedia’ from a small time computer institute in India and secured a job as a trainee ‘3dartist’ in one of the studio in Bombay. My job was to produce a crazy effects and animate a characters for an Indian mythological series..which was fun.

After working without pay for six months ,I manage to get my first paycheck of  2000 indian Rupees,which was less even in that time. so by this way I had started feeding my urge towards animation and a creative industry. after working for couple of years I started receiving good amount of offers..and had pleasure working on some of best projects  with some of the best artist i ever know.After working for several mediums of animations like advertising,movies, videos, games for eight years and the demand for  crazy working hours of 15 to 17 hrs a day. spending days and night in studio started taking a toll on my health at the age of 30, I have started experiencing ,irritation, Lowpassion.& lack of interest towards my job. so i have decided to take a break from the industry & wanted to spent some time with myself.

During a break I had decided to take up some management course. So i had join an partime ‘Diploma course in human resource management.’ The whole idea behind the course Is to get in to human resource department of animation industry,so that I will be in touch With the animation industry & would try to implement some good policys for artist to make their work easier  interesting and help them to keep their passion alive.

I have heard that creative people gets burnout easily.Its true in my case i have experience it.After switching on & off from job in past three years, I had decided to quit my highly paid job.With no future plans.

During my management course my creative Instinct started searching creativity in management, As management is about Planning,organizing,directing,staffing &controlling .. and on the artistic side, there are various things like forms ,shapes,color,lights,movements &overall asthethics of the frame or the image. Which  alos requires careful planning, organizing, direction & controlling, though these two things seems  different ,but for me both these things are inter connected with lots of new venue to explore.with these sort of feeling i had started working on the idea to develop a webcontent which will be totally dedicated for animation Entertainment.

Entrepreneurship to me is to work on new ideas,and to create markets, opportunities and new challenges. So thus the evolution started from creative artist to Wanna be serial entrepreneur…….KEEP THINKING & BE CREATIVE..
